The beloved province of Aceh is renowned for its coffee shops, found in every corner of every city and village. In fact, almost every coffee shop features a shelf selling Aceh's signature dish, Mie Aceh. A coffee shop in Aceh wouldn't be complete without a dedicated section for this internationally renowned dish, Mie Aceh. Therefore, even newcomers to the area often find a coffee shop selling Mie Aceh.

However, this time, I won't be discussing the coffee shop as the main outlet. Instead, I'll be reviewing Mie Aceh, sold at one of my favorite coffee shops. Like most noodle shops elsewhere, this one only has a small shelf in front of a coffee shop called Narasa Kupi, located in the Cunda area of Muara Dua. The shelf selling Mie Bang Kumis is called Mie Bang Kumis. Mie Bang Kumis is located at Warung Kopi Narasa Kupi, Meunasah Mesjid Village, Muara Dua District, Cunda, Lhokseumawe City.

Mie Aceh is a traditional Acehnese noodle dish known for its spicy, savory, and rich spices. Mie Aceh uses thick yellow noodles served in thick curry sauce or fried (three flavors: dry, wet, or stir-fried). Additional toppings include shrimp, beef, oysters, and squid, and are complemented by pickles and emping (crackers). The flavor comes from a blend of spices like turmeric, cumin, cardamom, pepper, and chili, along with a blend of Indian, Chinese, and local cultures.

The unique blend of spices makes Mie Aceh highly sought after by Acehnese people, even those from outside the province. The distinctive blend of spices and the thick, delicious broth make Mie Bang Kumis Cunda a popular choice. A serving of Mie Aceh is sold for IDR 10,000, equivalent to 4.7 Steem. The Bang Kumis stall offers three different versions of Mie Aceh, depending on customer preferences. Mie Bang Kumis, Cunda, also offers additional toppings such as shrimp, meat, egg, squid, and even oysters.

Naturally, these options are more expensive than regular noodles. Acehnese noodles with shrimp or oysters cost IDR 20,000, equivalent to 20 Steem. Acehnese noodles with meat are slightly more expensive, costing IDR 25,000, equivalent to 25 Steem. Mie Bang Kumis also offers other noodle dishes, such as vermicelli noodles and tiaw noodles, as well as instant noodles, at standard prices. Customers can order directly and enjoy them on-site, or order drinks at the Narasa Kupi stall, the main venue.

Customers can also take home to enjoy with their loved ones. Although I'm not a regular customer at Mie Bang Kumis, I've stopped by several times. Like tonight after Isha prayers and congregational Taraweeh prayers at the mosque. I love Bang Kumis noodles because the flavor is just right for my palate. Tonight, I ordered a portion of instant noodles (Indomie) with shrimp and a cup of black coffee. I paid IDR 25,000, the equivalent in 25 Steem, for the noodles and coffee. The service at Bang Kumis noodles was quite fast and responsive, so I didn't have to wait long. Luckily, there weren't many customers tonight, so my order was ready quickly.
