Friends, Fire, and Flavours: A Bond Beyond Time
My friends and I have been together since our childhood, as we studied in the same school and continued together until secondary education. After that, we entered different professions, but despite being in different fields, we never parted ways. We are so close to each other that we have always been there for one another, no matter what, and our bond has remained very strong.
I was the first among us to get a job, but that never created any distance between us. I remained intact with my friends, and the same was the case with everyone else. Now, at this stage of life, we are all employed and still manage to make time for each other. No doubt we are busy and hardly get time to spend together, but we still try to escape our work schedules and have get-togethers, not only to enjoy the present but also to recall our childhood days, which were quite pleasant and exciting.
No doubt we all earn our own money now, but the excitement and pleasure we had while spending our pocket money during childhood were unique, unparalleled, and unmatched. Sometimes I introspect and come to the conclusion that earning money alone is not enough to bring satisfaction or excitement. It is always inner peace that brings true happiness, no matter what your situation is or how you live. That “something extra” is always needed. For me, that has always been my friends. No matter how much I earn or how luxurious my life becomes, it would be meaningless without them.
My friends add charm to my life, and the same holds true for all of us. The importance of my friends to me is equal to how important I am to them. We share a strong bond and try to spend time together whenever we get free. This time, it was a chance meeting after prayers, and only four of us were present, as the others were busy with their duties.
We decided to spend some time together, and as we have been doing since childhood, we never go out without having some snacks. This time, we decided to take something eatable with us, and it was finally decided to have some meat that we would cook on the spot. We went to the butcher shop, bought some meat, and then left for our desired place. It is not always about eating together; it is our presence that makes these outings special.
Upon reaching there, we settled at our usual spot. As always, the work was distributed automatically. It is more like a tacit distribution of work, as we do not need to instruct anyone. Whenever we reach such places, we switch into work mode and everyone knows what to do. That is exactly what we did this time as well.
Eventually, our snacks were ready. Meanwhile, my friends smoked a few cigarettes and had some cold drinks. Along with that, they shared their stories and the challenges they had faced since our last meeting. I also got the opportunity to share my own experiences and feelings, which helped me feel relieved. We do not only share our problems but also the good things happening in our lives. This sharing helps us relieve ourselves of the burden of keeping personal matters to ourselves.
Overall, it was a very good outing. It made our bond stronger, and it has been growing stronger ever since we met. Hopefully, it will continue to remain strong until we die.
Now, I will share what we did with the meat. We chopped it into small pieces and added spices, mainly chilies, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, salt, and a few eggs, and then put it aside for some time. Meanwhile, we lit the fire and placed a frying pan over it, adding some oil. Once the oil was hot, my friend started making round-shaped balls and put them into the frying pan one by one. They were fried properly and served on a plate. When we finally tasted them, they were so delicious that I could hardly stop myself from eating more.
Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
