Shapla Chattar, Dhaka
Steemian Friends,
Shapla Chattar is a well-known and important sculpture located in Motijheel, the heart of Dhaka, the capital of our country. When I first went to Shapla Chattar, I felt like it stood as a symbol of a different beauty even in the midst of the busyness of the city. Amidst the tall office buildings, long lines of cars, and people rushing around, a large Shapla flower sculpture is really eye-catching. Today, I took a few pictures from the bus window while going from the capital, Dhaka, to my hometown, Comilla. I have shown the location of Shapla Chattar below through the Steem-atlas pin code.

On June 15, 1977, a sculpture was made of our country's national flower, the lotus. The designer of the sculpture is Azizul Jalil Pasha. The main offices of most of our country's banks, including Bangladesh Bank, are located around Motijheel Shapla Chattar. This Shapla Chattar has witnessed major movements or struggles in our country. Various types of movements originated from here. Currently, our country's Sonali Bank Motijheel branch is overseen by Shapla Chattar.

Motijheel is basically the main commercial area of the capital, Dhaka. So there is a lot of crowd here from morning to evening. Office-going people, bank employees, businessmen, everyone walks quickly on foot. There is a metro rail station next to Shapla Chattar. It was a little scary to see so many cars and buses around. However, the traffic police were controlling the cars nicely. Motijheel Shapla Chattar in the capital, Dhaka, is an attractive place.

There are many important banks and offices around Shapla Chattar. A large part of the country's economic activities is conducted around this area. So it is not just a tourist attraction but also a center of our country's economy. When I was standing there, I thought about how many significant decisions are made from this place, which affect the entire country.

An artificial water fountain has been installed around Shapla Chattar. The sculpture is white in color and is made on a water fountain. From a distance, it looks like a big lotus is blooming on the water. In the evening, when the water and lights of the fountain shine together, the place becomes more beautiful. Then many people like me stand and take pictures. When social and cultural events are held, people gather in front of Shapla Chattar. The city's cars move around Shapla Chattar according to the instructions of the traffic police. Shapla Chattar is shown on the TV channels of our country.

Yes, it's a national icon and a geographical identity of Bangladesh, renowned not only locally but internationally. One of the natural attractions in the Motijheel district, it has long been a center of economic activity and community life.
Historically, I still remember the events of May 2013, when Shapla Square was used as the site of a large demonstration by the Hefazat-e-Islam group demanding stricter blasphemy laws, resulting in a large number of casualties.
I believe this iconic attraction is an important atlas for everyone, a destination for tourism, local and global history education, and a reference for writing scientific papers.
Good luck, sir @mahadisalim 🙏

Friend, you know a very important theory about Shapla Chattar. Yes, here in 2013, a big movement and loss of life took place in our country. The events of 2013 will be written in the history of Bangladesh and Shapla Chattar will be a witness to it. The commercial area of our country is Motijheel Shapla Chattar area. I went to Shapla Chattar area to go to my village house for a weekend vacation, so I thought I would take a few pictures when the bus was moving. Thank you very much for your nice comment.
