Karjat offers solid road links to both Mumbai and Pune. A drive from Mumbai takes only 1.5 to 2 hours through Panvel. From Pune, expect about 2 hours by road past Lonavala and Khopoli.
Trains provide another easy option to reach Karjat. The local station there ties into lines from Mumbai and Pune. Board a local from Mumbai CST, and it drops you right at Karjat. Travelers from Pune can simply take a train out of Pune Junction.
