Is There Anyone Who Can Stop These Wars?

Sometimes when I open the news or scroll through my phone, I suddenly feel a strange heaviness in my heart. Pictures of broken buildings, crying mothers, and frightened children appear again and again. For a moment I stop and stare at the screen, and a question quietly rises inside my mind… Why is this still happening in our world?
I often think about this deeply. Is there really no one in this world who has the power to stop these wars? No leader, no nation, no global authority that can say, “Enough… this must end now.”
Is there anyone?
Whenever a war begins, we all know who suffers the most. It is never the powerful people sitting in big offices. It is always the ordinary people — the sons of poor mothers, the fathers of small children, the young men who had dreams but are suddenly sent to battlefields.
And then one day, a mother receives the worst news of her life: her son will never return.
How many mothers lose their sons in wars?
How many children become orphans?
How many wives spend the rest of their lives waiting for someone who will never come back?
And even those who survive… do they really survive?
Many return with wounds that never truly heal. Some are physical wounds, but many are hidden inside the heart. Wars may end on paper, but their pain often stays alive for many years.
Then another thought comes to my mind.
We ordinary people spend our lives working hard. Some run small shops, some work in fields, some do labor from morning until night just to feed their families. We pay taxes, we struggle to survive, and we hope for a better future.
But those same public funds are often used to buy weapons — tanks, missiles, and guns.
And one day those weapons are used against other human beings.
So I ask myself again… what do ordinary people really gain from all of this?
Does poverty disappear because of wars?
Do people become happier?
Does the world become safer?
The answer is obvious.
No.
Instead, fear spreads, families break, and poverty grows even deeper.
Sometimes I watch children playing near my neighborhood. They run, laugh, and argue over small things. Their happiness is simple and pure. When I see them, I suddenly think about children in war zones. They must have the same dreams. Maybe they want to become doctors, teachers, or simply live a peaceful life with their families.
But wars steal those dreams before they even begin.
And then the same question returns again and again.
Is there anyone?
Is there any leader, any country, or any institution brave enough to stand up and say that human lives matter more than power and politics?
Is there anyone who will pause after seeing a mother’s tears?
Is there anyone who will look into the eyes of orphaned children and change their decision?
Is there anyone who will choose humanity over conflict?
Sometimes I feel that maybe the real power does not belong to a single leader or a single nation. Maybe the real power belongs to the voices of ordinary people around the world.
If people truly demand peace…
If humanity becomes stronger than hatred…
Then maybe one day wars will finally stop.
But until that day arrives, my heart keeps asking the same question again and again…
Is there anyone?
Anyone who can truly stop these wars and make this world a place where humanity can breathe in peace. 🌍💔
