It so happened that I was offline for most of this week, and I’ll be back to my usual work routine in a few days.

Because of that, I didn’t even notice when OpenTTD version 15 was released — the same game we discussed in SC27/28.

The previous major release, OpenTTD 14, came out about a year and a half ago. Of course, many of the new features could already be explored in beta versions, and the most up-to-date ones were available in the daily nightly builds.

I really want to see all the new features that have appeared in the game over these past eighteen months. So far, I’ve only taken a quick look. One feature I personally wanted for a long time is a road waypoint, similar to railway waypoints and sea buoys. Another great addition is production and transport graphs for mines, farms, as well as passenger and mail traffic in towns and cities. These are the best improvements for me — though I’m sure I haven’t seen everything yet 🙂

Many servers have already switched to version 15.
