*Aftabganj Central Jame Mosque*

This beautiful mosque was built in the nearby area of our town. A few years ago, the local people took the initiative to construct it. A huge amount of money was spent on building this mosque, which you can only understand after entering inside. Several lakhs of taka were required to complete it, and now the mosque is open for everyone.

Name, Location and Opening Hours

The name of this mosque is Aftabganj Central Jame Mosque. It is often called a Taj Mahal style mosque because of its design. The mosque is located in Nawabganj Upazila of Dinajpur district, and it is built on about 1 bigha of land. It remains open from the Fajr Adhan until 11 PM because five daily prayers are held here. Both the local worshippers and visitors pray in congregation regularly.

Structure, Environment & Decoration

The Aftab family of Aftabganj took the initiative to build this mosque. Since they are a well–known and influential family, they funded the entire construction with their own money. The mosque was built on their own land. They collected different types of stones and materials from various countries to give the mosque a Taj Mahal–like appearance. Because of this, many people also call it the Taj Mahal Mosque.

These simple stairs lead you inside the mosque. Worshippers use these stairs every day when coming to pray. From below, the staircase looks very beautiful, especially with the red carpet placed in the middle, which enhances the mosque’s elegance.

The mosque is very spacious, allowing a large number of worshippers to pray together. There is also a separate prayer space for women. From every angle, the mosque has been designed with modern and beautiful features.

Chandelier

To make anything look beautiful, decoration plays an important role. Without proper decoration, nothing catches people’s attention. The mosque has been decorated with stunning stones and lighting, including this magnificent chandelier, which completely enhances the beauty of the interior.


*Prayer area*

The interior is so clean that someone could even eat here without hesitation. There is no dust or garbage anywhere. The craftsmanship, stonework, and decorations are outstanding. The prayer area is kept spotless so that worshippers can pray comfortably.

*Mosque Dome*

The dome is placed at the front side of the mosque to enhance its beauty. Arabic calligraphy is engraved on it, and from a distance, it gives the mosque an eye catching appearance.

	Mosque Veranda

The veranda is decorated with beautiful Islamic glass designs, which attract everyone’s attention. The exit area is also well organized. The mosque allows both men and women to pray inside, and no permission is needed to enter. It is open not only for worshippers but also for visitors throughout the day.

Other Facilities

Fans

Since the construction is not fully completed yet, fans have been installed temporarily so worshippers can pray comfortably. In the future, the mosque will likely have full air-conditioning. Some staff members are also employed here to maintain cleanliness and take care of the mosque. Overall, this mosque feels like one of the best I have ever visited.


*Ablution Area*

The Wudu area impressed me the most. It is extremely clean and odor free. The entire section is well maintained, and I could not find any dirt or garbage. The workers who keep it clean truly deserve appreciation, as the ablution area is one of the most important parts of a mosque.


*CCTV Camera*

I also appreciate the mosque authorities for installing CCTV cameras around the mosque. For security and to prevent any accidents or theft, they monitor everything 24/7.

*Mosque Site View*

This Aftabganj Central Jame Mosque is built in the style of the Taj Mahal. The Aftab family funded its construction. Both men and women can pray here in separate prayer spaces. CCTV cameras ensure security, and there is a large parking area where anyone can park their vehicle safely. Inside, the environment is truly beautiful with artistic decorations and special stones brought from other countries. The mosque is open to tourists, and I believe it is never kept locked. Unfortunately, I couldn’t pray here this time, but I hope I will get the chance to pray during my next visit.
