The name of this place is Rangpur Recreation Park and Zoo. It is one of the largest and most popular zoos in the northern region of Bangladesh. The zoo is located in the Police Lines Road area of Rangpur city.

Inside the zoo, there are various kinds of animals and birds, a green natural environment, and beautiful walking paths for visitors. The zoo remains open every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, which makes it convenient for people of all ages to visit.

The overall structure of Rangpur Recreation Park and Zoo is very well planned and organized. The entire area is divided into different sections so that visitors can easily explore the zoo without confusion. The animal enclosures are designed carefully, maintaining safe distances to ensure both animal safety and visitor security.

The environment of the zoo is calm, peaceful, and refreshing. Due to the presence of many trees and plants, the area always feels green and cool. The zoo is located away from city noise, which makes the visit more enjoyable. Cleanliness is well maintained throughout the zoo.

The decoration of the zoo is simple yet attractive. Flower gardens and small plants have been placed in different areas to enhance natural beauty. In front of the animal cages, there are nameplates and information boards that help visitors learn about different animals and birds.

There are many types of animals and birds inside this zoo. One of the most notable animals is the hippopotamus, often known as the “water giant.” Hippos prefer rivers and water bodies and spend most of their time underwater. Due to their massive size and strength, they can be very dangerous to humans if provoked, so visitors should always remain cautious while observing them.

The myna bird is one of my favorite birds. When kept as a pet, it can learn to imitate human speech. Although the myna bird is mostly black in color, its bright beak makes it very attractive, which is why many people like this bird.

Monkeys are very common animals in our country. They are often seen in rural areas and forests. Monkeys prefer living in groups and can be found in almost every zoo. They are not picky eaters and can survive on fruits and vegetables easily.

Nowadays, deer are rarely seen in many zoos. However, they are still found in district-level zoos and the Sundarbans region. The deer shown in the photos are young deer. The adult deer stayed far away, so I could not capture their pictures. Still, the young deer looked very beautiful, and I enjoyed feeding them.

Rangpur Recreation Park and Zoo is very popular due to its good services. Many schools and colleges organize picnic tours here during the picnic season. Local residents also visit the zoo during leisure time or when guests come to their homes. Children especially enjoy watching different animals and birds here. Horses, zebras, and tigers are among the most attractive animals in the zoo.

Overall Experience

The zoo is very large, and it takes a long time to explore everything. The entire area is extremely clean and well maintained. There are many benches for couples and families to sit and relax. Animals such as crocodiles, tigers, lions, hippos, zebras, horses, monkeys, and peacocks made my visit very enjoyable. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time here, and Rangpur Recreation Park and Zoo left a very positive impression on me.
