Assalamu'alaikum my stemian friends, I would like to tell you my little story of visiting my unforgetabble place, The Beuatiful Mosque.

Yesterday, I stopped by Masjid Darul Falah in Gampong Pineung, Banda Aceh. This mosque holds a very special place in my heart. Twenty-one years ago, on December 26th, 2004, when the massive 8.6 earthquake struck Aceh, I was living near Prada, not far from Pineung.
When people started running and shouting that the seawater was rising "tsunami". I immediately grabbed my Honda Supra and followed the crowd fleeing for safety. I had no idea where to go; I just rode wherever people were running.

When I reached Masjid Darul Falah, my motorcycle suddenly stopped. it ran out of fuel. At that moment, I felt completely helpless. I surrendered everything to Allah.

I walked inside, took wudhu, and prayed. I opened the Qur’an and tried to calm my heart, even as the aftershocks kept shaking the mosque again and again.

I didint know what was happening outside. None of us had ever imagined a tsunami could hit Aceh.
Not long after, people began bringing in bodies, victims carried by the huge waves. At first, I thought it was just a few casualties. But within an hour, the number kept increasing… until there were more 50 bodies laid outside and around the mosque.

Masjid Darul Falah in Gampong Pineung is a beautiful and peaceful mosque, standing with a strong sense of history and spirituality.

The exterior architecture is elegant, with clean white walls, patterned lattice panels, and a graceful dome that immediately catches the eye. Its spacious courtyard and neatly arranged area for parking create a calm atmosphere for worshippers.
The wudhu area is well-maintained, clean, and the water flows smoothly, making preparation for prayer feel refreshing and effortless. The parking area is also spacious, accommodating visitors with ease, even during busy prayer times.

Inside, the mosque feels even more serene. The prayer hall is decorated with soft green tones, intricate Islamic patterns, and beautifully carved mihrab details that give the space both warmth and character. The high pillars, well-maintained carpets, and Quranic calligraphy around the walls add to the sense of tranquility.

For me, Masjid Darul Falah is more than just a place of worship, it is a sanctuary, a witness to history, and a reminder of how faith carries us through life’s most difficult moments.
