Assalamu'alaikum my stemians friends.. Hope everything is going well.
Yesterday, my family and I went on a short holiday trip during the Eid celebration. Our destination was the refreshing Sungai Geunie, a popular river spot in Pidie, Aceh, known for its clear water and relaxing natural vibes. It was one of those simple family moments that turned into a beautiful memory.
On our way there, we passed through Beureunuen, and right at that moment, the call to prayer (adhan) echoed through the air. It felt like perfect timing, almost like we were being invited to stop. Without thinking twice, we pulled over and headed to Masjid Abu Beureu'eh to perform Dhuhr prayer.
Another thing worth mentioning is the spacious parking area and well-organized surroundings. It’s very convenient for travelers like us who just want to stop by, pray, and continue the journey.
Stopping by Masjid Abu Beureueh was truly an unforgettable moment during our journey. From the outside, the mosque looks majestic and elegant, with its tall minaret standing proudly and its large dome shining under the bright blue sky. The architecture blends modern Islamic design with a touch of traditional Acehnese identity, making it visually stunning even from a distance.

As we stepped inside, the atmosphere immediately changed. It felt calm, peaceful, and spiritually uplifting. The interior is just as impressive as the exterior. The red carpet is clean and neatly arranged, creating a comfortable space for worshippers. The pillars, arches, and detailed ornaments give a sense of grandeur, while still maintaining warmth and humility.
During prayer time, the mosque became lively. Worshippers lined up shoulder to shoulder, creating a strong sense of unity. It didn’t matter where people came from, everyone shared the same purpose in that moment.

One of the most striking parts is the ceiling. The wooden dome inside, decorated with beautiful patterns and natural tones, adds a unique charm. Hanging in the center is a large chandelier that enhances the elegance of the prayer hall. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just pray, you feel your heart becoming lighter.

There is also a central water pool that adds a traditional touch to the space. It not only enhances the aesthetic value but also gives a calm and refreshing vibe before entering the prayer hall. Watching people quietly perform wudhu here creates a peaceful scene on its own.

Overall, the wudhu facilities at this mosque are not just functional but also thoughtfully designed. It completes the experience of visiting the mosque, starting from cleansing yourself physically, to preparing your heart spiritually before prayer.
