Oman Al-Makmur Mosque - Banda Aceh

I visited Oman Mosque in Banda Aceh with Adib and Abizar on 22 November. The mosque felt calm and welcoming that early morning. It is clear the building was carefully rebuilt after the 2004 tsunami, the renovation gives the place both strength and beauty.
The parking area is wide and well organized, so arriving by car is easy and not stressful. we can park our vehicle easily in front of the mosque.

Before entering the main hall, the wudhu (ablution) area welcomed us with a clean and fresh atmosphere. The water flowed well and the place was designed neatly to help worshippers prepare for prayer comfortably.

Inside view

When I stepped inside Oman Mosque, the atmosphere immediately felt peaceful and elegant. The prayer hall is very wide and clean, with soft lighting that makes the space comfortable for everyone who comes to worship.

The Mihrab and Mimbar

The mihrab is one of the most stunning parts of the mosque. It is decorated with beautiful calligraphy and a sky-blue background that looks like a window to the heavens. Right beside it, the mimbar stands tall with golden details, showing the importance of the khutbah every Friday.
The floor is fully covered with thick and clean carpets in warm colors, lined perfectly to guide worshippers to form neat and straight rows. It feels very comfortable to pray on, especially during longer prayers like Fajr and Isha.

The beautiful dome

Looking up, the dome takes all attention. It is filled with vibrant Islamic art green, blue, and gold shapes forming a perfect circle of calligraphy. The dome truly gives a feeling of greatness and reminds us of the Creator’s beauty.
Inside Oman Mosque, everything is arranged to bring comfort and khusyuk. The design, the colors, the air, and the calmness all work together to make every prayer feel meaningful.

The carpet is soft and perfectly aligned, helping everyone stand straight in prayer rows. The lighting is warm and creates a calm atmosphere for worship.

Women Area

The mosque also has a nice divider for the women’s area. It is clear and comfortable, ensuring privacy but still allowing everyone to be part of the same peaceful prayer experience. The sound system is clear, so the imam’s recitation can be heard from every corner.

From the outside, the mosque looks truly beautiful. The green lights on its towers shine brightly at night, making it easy to notice even from far away. The parking area is wide and well-organized, so visitors can comfortably come with their families. by car or motorcycle.
Everything inside this mosque feels peaceful and well-organized, from the clean mihrab and the neatly placed minbar, to the soft carpet and the divider that provides comfort and privacy for women. Every detail invites us to calm down, focus, and enjoy the beauty of worship. A simple place, yet full of serenity.
