Performing Dzuhur prayer at Baitul Muttaqin Mosque, East Aceh

Wednesday,December 17 2025, on our trip to Aceh Tamiang, we took a short break at Baitul Muttaqin Mosque in Idi Cut, East Aceh. We stopped there to rest, perform dzuhur prayers, and have lunch. From the very first moment, the mosque gave us a calm and welcoming feeling.

Starting from the main gate, the mosque looks clean and well-maintained. The parking area is spacious and convenient, making it easy for travelers to stop without any hassle. The front yard is wide and shady, perfect for a short rest before or after prayer.

One thing that really stands out is the ablution area. The water is clean, clear, and refreshing. The women’s wudu area has an attractive design and is fully enclosed, giving comfort and privacy. Meanwhile, the men’s wudu area is more open, equipped with a large water tank, simple but very functional.

Mihrab and Mimbar

Inside, the mosque feels very comfortable and peaceful. Unlike most mosques, this one has a rectangular shape with a unique layout. From the entrance, you can clearly see a long, straight view toward the mihrab. The mosque is only about 10 meters wide, but stretches approximately 30 to 40 meters long, creating a different and memorable atmosphere. There is women's mihrab covered withbthe curtain on the left side after the entrance.
The mihrab itself is simple and elegant, accompanied by a wooden pulpit. Beside it stands a large clock, making it easy for worshippers to keep track of prayer time. Overall, Baitul Muttaqin Mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a perfect resting spot for travelers, clean, comfortable, and calming for the soul.

The mosque is located right on the Medan–Banda Aceh road, on the left side if you’re coming from Banda Aceh, so it’s very easy to find. From the main gate, the mosque looks elegant with its classic design and soft colors. The parking area is quite spacious, shaded by large trees, and comfortable for cars and motorcycles. The front yard is wide, clean, and well-organized, giving a calm first impression.
