A day In pesantren Imam Syafi'i
Assalamu'alaikum my stemian friends, today I would like to share my little story from our day at Imam Syafi'i Boarding school today.
Today, I and my familiy brought Abizar to take the entrance test at Pesantren Imam Syafi’i Sibreh -Aceh Besar, the same boarding school where his older brother, Adib, is studying. So it was not only a test day,it was also a small family reunion.

Registration Place
After completing re-registration, Abizar went straight to Class Room 2 for the written test and Al-Quran reading test, while my wife and I joined the parent interview session in Room 1.

Once everything was settled, we waited for Abizar to finish his Qur’an reading test. Instead of just sitting down, I walked around the pesantren to get a closer look at the environment.

The Mosque
The first thing that caught my attention was the mosque beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The architecture stands proudly, and it seems to be the heart of the pesantren’s daily activities.
The courtyard is spacious, the atmosphere feels calm, and the area around it is tidy.

In front of the mosque, a row of neatly arranged wooden gazebos stands proudly, a comfortable waiting area where parents can meet and pick up their children. The atmosphere feels calm and welcoming, creating a simple yet incredibly functional resting space.

Futsal Field
Not far from there, children can be seen playing futsal on a field still damp from the rain , lively, energetic, and full of that unmistakable pesantren spirit. On the other side, a wide and well-maintained football field serves as the center of the students’ physical activities every afternoon.

Football field
Outside, there are open spaces for activities, including a field that students use for sports and daily routines. Parents waiting for their children were gathered in the shaded area, creating a warm and communal atmosphere typical of pesantren life.

Students' Achievement banner
The pesantren environment is also adorned with banners showcasing students’ achievements , from academic triumphs such as Arabic debate championships, to non-academic accomplishments like archery, table tennis, taekwondo, and many other sports. All of these elements make the place feel not just like an educational institution, but a true second home that shapes the character, confidence, and pride of every student.

Classrooms
I also visited the classroom buildings. The layout is well - maintaned , two floor building, clean and lively with students going in and out. Though not luxurious, it gives off a warm, genuine pesantren vibe, discipline mixed with a humble learning spirit.
Inside the classroom
The classrooms are clean and well-organized, with student portfolios neatly displayed on the walls, adding a personal and lively touch to the learning space.

3 Floors dormitory

New building for dormitory
The dormitory area is also neat, clean and the whole environment feels safe for the students. There are located near football field. There is kitchen in the middle of dormitory.

Overall, Pesantren Imam Syafi’i gives a grounded and positive impression. A place where discipline, worship, and learning blend into a balanced daily life. Seeing both Abizar and Adib here today made me grateful, grateful for the journey they’re walking, and grateful to witness it.

Me and Adib
Alhamdulillah, the entire testing process went smoothly, and we headed back to Banda Aceh with Adib as well, after receiving permission for him to spend a day enjoying a short trip around the city.
Thanks for reading.

The place is a little further down. As a suggestion, just add the name of the place and the city to the title.
