Today I’d like to share a simple but interesting coffee spot that I recently visited. It’s not a simple cafe, but it has its own charm and comfort.

Front Space View

Toko Kopi Fora is one of those places that may look ordinary at first glance, but slowly grows on you once you spend some time there. Located right on the side of the Medan–Banda Aceh main road, directly in front of Lhoksukon Terminal, this coffee shop enjoys a very strategic position. It’s easy to access, easy to notice, and perfect for both locals and travelers who need a short break during their journey.

Interestingly, this place was formerly known as Barn Kupi. After a change of ownership, the cafe was rebranded and reopened under a new name: "Toko Kopi Fora". Even though the name has changed, the soul of acehness "warung kopi" is still there, simple, welcoming, and familiar, while being refreshed with a slightly more modern and organized concept.

Another thing I really like about Toko Kopi Fora is the way the place is arranged. The layout feels clean and organized, with both indoor in front space and semi-outdoor seating areas in back space. The outdoor space, surrounded by small trees and plants, gives a calm and relaxing vibe, especially in the evening. Meanwhile, the indoor VIP room with glass walls feels neat and modern, suitable for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere.

Besides coffee, Toko Kopi Fora also shares its space with several food vendors, offering a variety of meals. From what is displayed on the menu board, visitors can find options such as Tom Yam, various fried rice dishes, Mie Aceh, grilled fish, teriyaki chicken, and other seafood dishes. This makes the place not only suitable for coffee breaks, but also for those who want to enjoy a proper meal.

Another highlight of Toko Kopi Fora is its barista space, which looks neat and modern. The coffee bar is well-organized, giving a clean and professional impression. Visitors can clearly see the barista at work, preparing drinks with care and attention. Right in front of the barista area, there is a cashier counter, making the ordering process simple and efficient.
In terms of coffee selection, Toko Kopi Fora offers both espresso-based drinks and traditional filtered coffee (kopi saring). This variety allows visitors to choose according to their taste, whether they prefer a strong, modern espresso or a more classic and familiar coffee flavor.
During my visit last night, I only ordered a hot Americano, which was simple and enjoyable, perfect for a relaxed evening. I didn’t try the food yet, but seeing the menu choices definitely made me curious. Maybe next time, I’ll come back to explore the food options and see how they complement the coffee experience at Toko Kopi Fora.

Personally, I find Toko Kopi Fora to be an enjoyable place to stop by. It’s comfortable without being complicated, simple without being boring. The combination of a strategic location, reasonable prices, and a relaxed atmosphere makes this coffee shop a pleasant spot to visit, whether you’re just passing through Lhoksukon or looking for a casual place to unwind.

One thing worth noting is the parking situation. Since Toko Kopi Fora is located right on the side of the main road, parking for cars can be a bit limited. There is space for only around three cars, so it may feel slightly tight during busy hours. However, for motorcycles, the situation is much better. There is a dedicated parking area inside, making it convenient and safe for visitors who come by motorbike.
