Map the Story #30 - National Library of Nigeria (Uyo Branch)

The statue in front of the Library
After a back-breaking four-hour lecture that left me visibly exhausted and stressed, I needed a place to "rest my head" for at least some minutes.
The first option that crossed my mind was the hostel. But I opted for somewhere quieter; the National Library of Nigeria (Uyo branch) located at Udotung Ubo Street.
To get there, I boarded a minibus that dropped me off at the Udotung Ubo traffic light, along Oron Road, Uyo. From there, I trekked a short distance into the complex.

I've always preferred this library because of its proximity to my place compared to other libraries within the Uyo metropolis.
On arriving, I was asked to sign a register. Used that moment to engaged the librarian in a short chitchat. We talked about the library, its history and the books.
About the National Library (Uyo Branch)
I've noticed that many people are familiar with the Akwa Ibom State Library, but very few realise that the National Library (a federal institution) operates right there in that compound as well.
Unlike regular libraries, this branch acts as a Legal Deposit. This means that a copy of every book published in Nigeria is supposed to be preserved here. It is also the place where writers process their ISBN and ISSN numbers.

The shelf that displays current Newspaper publications and dailies
We talked about the massive collection of government gazettes, old newspapers, and academic journals. Every local newspaper owner is expected to submit the maiden edition of their news to obtain their ISSN before it's published.
Facilities
The library is equipped with over 5,000 books. There are comfortable reading seats and carousels. I loved the ample natural and artificial lights available as they made reading easier and kept the ambiance bright.

There are books for various subject matters:
- Law
- Agriculture
- History
- Literature
- Governance
- Self-development, etc.
The library is currently open to the general public. I borrowed some of the books there to work on one of my assignments.
Personally, I enjoyed my stay there and look forward to my next visit.

Hola ukpono, una librería siempre es grato conocer. Como recomendación no agrupes cuatro fotografías en una misma línea es mejor ponerlas por separado para visualizarlas mucho mejor y el lugar esta un poco más abajo. Saludos

Thank you for the review. I've adjusted those photos now.
Modification made.
But here's the ish, that library's gate and fence are directly facing the street.
See:
So, this new pin is obviously focused on the building itself, not the entrance. Guess that was what I omitted. Would focus on the building itself, next time, not on the land area or entrance.
