Today, 26 February 2026 (Thursday), we made chickpea chaat for Iftar. I am sharing the full recipe with you, my friends. I hope you will like it.
First, I boiled the chickpeas and potatoes. After the chickpeas were boiled, I washed them well once or twice with clean water. I peeled the potatoes and cut them into pieces, then added them to the chickpeas.
I finely chopped the onion, washed it well, and added it. Then I added finely chopped tomatoes, cucumber, apple, banana, guava, pomegranate, carrot, and a small amount of radish.
To increase the taste, I added mint, fresh coriander, and chaat masala. I mixed all these ingredients well.
Separately, I prepared a sauce made of dried plums, tamarind, and apricots. First, I soaked the tamarind in water for some time and removed the seeds. I boiled the dried plums in water until they became soft, then removed their seeds as well. The apricots were already without seeds, so I washed them properly.
I put all three ingredients on the stove and cooked them together. When the mixture became thick, I added sugar, small cardamom powder, black pepper, black salt, a little red chili powder, and salt. Then I blended it in a grinder. This made a very delicious sweet and sour sauce.
I added this sauce to the fruit chaat and mixed it well. Then everyone ate it happily and enjoyed it very much.
