Ramadan Night BBQ – The Taste of Malai Tikka on Hot Coals
Good Night 🌉 to all community members 🥱 and steemers.
Ramadan nights have their own special feeling. After a long day of fasting, the evening becomes full of life. The air feels cooler, people start moving outside, and the smell of food begins to spread everywhere. Last night I had one of those small but beautiful moments when I saw these malai tikka and seekh kebabs being grilled over hot charcoal.
I took this picture myself. The moment caught my attention because of the glowing red coals under the skewers. The heat of the fire and the light from the coals created a warm and almost magical scene. On the left side, there was a big piece of wood burning slowly and giving off smoke. The smoke was rising gently into the dark night, and it made the whole place smell like real traditional BBQ.
On the right side, several metal skewers were placed over the hot charcoal. They were filled with creamy pieces of malai tikka. The color was light and slightly golden from the heat of the fire. Each piece looked juicy and soft. Right next to them there was also a seekh kebab, which had a darker orange-brown color and looked perfectly cooked.
What I really enjoy about this kind of BBQ is that it is cooked over real charcoal. The taste becomes very different compared to cooking on gas or in a kitchen oven. The smoke, the heat, and the slow grilling give the meat a special flavor that is hard to describe but very easy to enjoy.
While standing there, I watched the cook slowly turning the skewers again and again so the meat could cook evenly. Sometimes small sparks from the charcoal appeared, and the sizzling sound of the meat touching the heat could be heard. It was one of those simple moments that make Ramadan evenings feel special.
In Pakistan, BBQ is not just food. It is also part of our culture. People gather around, talk, wait for their food, and enjoy the smell of spices and smoke. Whether it is malai tikka, seekh kebab, or chicken tikka, the experience is always the same: simple food, warm fire, and good company.
Taking this photo reminded me how beautiful small everyday moments can be. Sometimes we walk past these scenes without noticing them. But when we stop for a second and look carefully, we can see the glow of the coals, the rising smoke, and the delicious food slowly cooking.
For me, this picture is not just about food. It is about the atmosphere of a Ramadan night, the warmth of the charcoal fire, and the simple joy of waiting for freshly grilled BBQ.
And honestly… the smell alone was enough to make anyone hungry. 😄🔥
