Ramadan Changed My Routine (And My Mindset)

Source
Hello Assalamualaikum @everyone, greetings to all from @theindicators. How are you feeling today, I hope all are well and I'm also good 👍
This Ramadan, something felt different.
Fasting naturally breaks your routine. You wake up for Suhoor when the world is asleep. The silence feels powerful. I started sitting alone for 10–15 minutes after Suhoor instead of going back to bed immediately.
At first, it felt strange.
But slowly, I started thinking about my life more deeply during those quiet mornings. No notifications. No distractions. Just me and my thoughts.
One morning, after Fajr, I told myself:
“If I can control my hunger, I can control my laziness too.”
So I made small changes.
Instead of wasting afternoons sleeping too much, I began reading a few pages of a book. Nothing huge. Just small progress. I also started planning my posts more seriously instead of writing randomly.
Even my walks before Iftar became meaningful. I would observe people rushing to buy fruit, samosas frying in shops, kids carrying Rooh Afza bottles home. Life felt alive. And I realized I had been living half-asleep before.

Ramadan taught me discipline in a way normal days never did.
Breaking ordinary life is not about becoming famous or rich overnight.
It’s about awareness.
For example, before Ramadan, I used to waste hours watching useless videos. Now, even if I waste time, I feel conscious about it. That awareness itself is growth.
One evening, a friend laughed and said,
“Ramadan energy hai, baad mein sab waisa hi ho jaye ga.”
Maybe he’s right. Maybe routine will try to pull me back.
But I don’t want to go fully back.
Even if I keep 20% of this discipline after Ramadan, that’s still improvement.
Escaping the ordinary doesn’t require a big city, big money, or big opportunities.
It requires a decision.
A small decision repeated daily.
Ramadan showed me that change is possible because I already proved to myself that I can sacrifice comfort for something bigger.
Now when I sit outside at night, the same street doesn’t feel like a trap anymore.
Because I know something inside me is moving forward.
And maybe that’s the real escape.
Congratulations!
