There's a Rumble in Brixton Tonight
For this week's #BeerSaturday post I stopped into one of my favorite places in Long Beach: Beachwood BBQ. Beachwood has 2 locations in southern California: Seal Beach & Long Beach. A 3rd location, also in Long Beach, is the Beachwood Blendery, which is sour beer central. We will get to the Blendery in a later post; today we focus on the Breweries (which masquerade as BBQs).
Here is the Seal Beach location, located on the quiet end of Main Street, right across from Seal Beach Pier.
And here is the Long Beach location, in the walkable part of town, off beautiful Promenade street, which is turning into quite the brewery attraction in itself.
As you can see by the menu, theyre not kidding around. Every brew here is crafted to be unique.
The brewers were in the back brewing something as I ordered my lunch. I decided to go with an all time favorite: Hops of Brixton. A nice straightforward, slightly bitter, British style ale. The foam dies down a bit by the time I took the picture.
Did I mention the food is fantastic? I had a pastrami with green tomatoes and fried pickles. And a second Brixton Ale.
Cheers!
Awesome, it's great!
Buen paseo, las cervezas se veían deliciosas. Friecitas
que hermosoo! lugar!
Awesome, its' great!
Wow! Looks like a cool place. Love the beer names for sure (and this one appears to be named after a Clash song). The sandwich looks great, too. Thanks for making my mouthwater!
lol I was thinking more of the Stray Cats when I came up with the title, but youre right...Clash had "Guns of Brixton". The Beachwood Blendery, which i'll have a future post about, tend to name their beers after Pink Floyd songs. "Careful with that Passion Fruit Eugene", for example. They are a fun group these Beachwood guys.
Ah! Stray Cats are great, too. Now I have to download that song. :) And I love the name of that Pink Floyd - based on another favorite (and trippy) song!
I was thinking as well to the good old Clash song!
Dang, next time I head to Long Beach I think I know a place to visit :) Looks like a tasty sandwich with a good beer selection. Is it just a brewpub or do they sell in stores?
Ive seen them sell in Whole Foods stores, and also as guest taps in other pubs (by the way Beachwood has guest taps too, i think I counted about 12 today from other local breweries, I just didnt focus on that today).
Did you try all 12? ;) Good to know. Next time I'm there I'll see if I can find some.
Thank You
THANKS FOR THE STEEM BRO I UPVOTED FOLLOWED AND RESTEEMED FAM
That looks like a place that I would like to hang out at. I hate saying this but as a vegetarian that sandwich looks good.
well, as a vegetarian, you would love the Fried Green Tomatoes and salad they have too! I wont judge :)
