I don't know the name of this insect and its biological family, but when I find this species in a garden I decided to portray a best shot of this insect with the available resources. It was not planned.

Correct setting, adjustment, position, angle, availability of light, proper background for the object, etc are all essentials to portray a best shot. A pro photographer is best at it. I am not a pro photographer but I tried my best to take the shots from different positions and angle to make it at least a good one.

The existing bushes, trees around the object were mostly light green. So I had no other choice to choose any other background. The insect is also a tiny one, so the shots which I had taken are all macro shots.

Proper depth of field and to remain in sharp focus was the objective. I tried varying the setting to ascertain which one is yielding the best result for me. I also tried to alter my position and angle so that I can get the best orientation of the object in the frame.

I took a number of shots at different settings and from different angle & positions, all these shots were taken in the afternoon-evening time.

The last three shots are looking good-- focus, orientation of the object, background of the last three shots qualifies to be good shots according to me. But again I am not the best, but I tired my best.

I have taken all these shots handheld (a tripod could have yield better results). The macro shot of this insect is really beautiful, the nature is truly beautiful.

Lens used- Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM

All the shots are raw, unprocessed images.

Hey, congratulations on those beautiful shots. The insect is in the caterpillar phase, then it will lock itself in its cocoon and finally transform into a beautiful butterfly. Greetings.
