Discord Meetup: Public Bid Bot Owners Meeting- Saturday 2pm EST 1900 UTC in PALnet

in #bidbot7 years ago (edited)

Bid Bots are a hot topic these days. Opinions range from beneficial to investors to reward pool raping bastards. It's a little hot and heated. I wanted to bring together bid bot owners into a public forum. Other shows are happening at that time so it won't be broadcast on mspwaves We are free to broadcast this on mspwaves and will be doing so. We'll all join up within PALnet in a Discord Live on Air channel.

The public is welcome to attend, but the majority of voice conversation will be limited to bid bot owners. I'll record the conversation and post it so the public can see this isn't a bunch of rich bastards smoking cigars in a black room trying to cheat minnows and instead it's a group of concerned business owners trying to provide a valuable service in an ethical and profitable way.

Topics include:

Ethical bid bot operations
black lists
white lists
expectation setting
best practice
abuse prevention
steemcleaners alignment
PAlnet/MSP blacklist alignment

Special guests welcome through voice

yes bossman @aggroed we are ready to help in any way we can...

It would be fascinating to see how the trending page would change if all bid/upvote/follow/trail bots were turned off for a day.

It would be like an "Earth Hour" for steemit.

Trending is mostly whales with vote circles than bots. But there are a few users who abuse bots to get to trending but the majority are whales that don't use bots.

Are the vote circles usually manually curated? I assumed that they were curation trails or follow bots. It's very impressive if that's manual. Well organized.

It's mostly backroom deals, I'll vote on your post, you pay me or some other arrangement. Big names here can post about the sun coming up in the morning and get $200.

What's your opinion on bots. As a new member of steemit, its very hard for me to get audience to see my posts. I don't use bots but i'm thinking of starting :)

I like them. I thin they are a tool, like a gun, and a can be used responsibly or poorly and we have to decide as a community what we want.

this looks good.. thanks for doing these.. i

The topics to be discussed are the important ones,

best practice
abuse prevention

well, let’s wait for the posting to know how it went.
