RE: Are Bid Bots The Only Way?

There is that system already, it's called the promote button, where the funds sent are going to the null account and there's no inflation of reputation or curation as a result.

I'm aware of it, I'd like to see promoted integrated to trending so it actually has some use. Who visits promoted?

That's why I suggested that the homepage is changed to the promoted page, and only the posts that are promoted appear there, that way there is a demand for the exposure that comes from being on steemit.com, which like you remarked, who visits promoted? it will be everyone then.

But that would be forcing ads down everyones throat. You kind a want to take the end user into consideration as well or they'll leave or never come at all. We don't need to reinvent the wheel, just look what other social medias are doing, it is rather simple. Reserving posts for promoted/ad posts between trending posts.

It's not Ads, its Promoted content, and in turn, people will be careful what they promote because exposure isn't always great. Think about it.

It could work, I'm all for trying to change the current Steem meta. I have one project in development to assist in this.
