I watch biographies about Black people. Especially Black entertainers and athletes who lived and rose to prominence in the second half of the last century. Each one is a masters curriculum, (not merely a class), in fame, money, racism, drugs, magnificence, relationships, love and everything that makes humans lovely and despicable, all at the same time.
I study these documentaries as such. As history lessons, and as a way of peering into the future just in case the unexpected occurs.
Such as?
Such as fame and fortune. I don’t expect it. Which is exactly why I mentally prepare for it. I don’t expect Armageddon, or a 21st century civil war in the US, but I am mentally, and in a way physically prepared for those possibilities as well.
Studying these documentaries reveals at least three pillars of the system. The talent. The business. And the audience. The talent is usually, if not always the buffer between the audience and the business. “The business” is comprised of executives, accountants, managers and such. We can look at this just like the American class system. The lower class, the public. The consumers. The talent, is the bourgeoisie. The business is everything, including distribution, accountants and the last stop for the revenue.
The talent, which includes producers, studio musicians, and such, facilitates the transfer of wealth from the public to the business.
The talent, especially the entertainer gets pressured from both ends. The pressure for new products, stunning performances and visibility from both sides. A lot of talent breaks under such pressure. These breaks manifest in bad behavior, because they are cracked in places that cannot be repaired by those who are causing the damage.
These are the basics. Watch any documentary about any Black entertainer in America and check how this system, along with their own ambition whittles them down to a memory. They die too soon, but the money still transfers from the public to the business.

The pattern is the same across the board. It doesn’t matter what genre you’re talking about. Even social media. There’s a team behind every viral video. There’s some management looking to boost your brand, and some hopefuls looking for such assistance.
Just don’t be too talented. Or too successful. In other words, don’t become a threat to the establishment. To the “steering committee.” In other words, the “government.” Remember, “govern” comes from a word that means, “steer,” not “rule.”

We’ve noticed this across various genres. Mainly in those which attract large audiences. You don’t see very many writers on the set these days. Stephen King, and Robert Greene are two that they haul out to support the deep-state agenda. They would love to have JK Rowling, but she’s a bit out of their reach it seems. King especially because he was allowed to accumulate wealth through his books becoming movies and TV miniseries. So of course he’s going to “advise” his audience to comply, and tell us the CDC has “our best interests in mind.”
I don’t imagine we’d see a James Baldwin selling the Pfizer jab, but Quest Love, (The Roots), certainly did. So you never know.
This may sound cynical and hopeless, but sometimes it’s better not to have dreams. Or maybe it’s better not to have lofty dreams. It’s certainly a good idea not to have heroes, because, as we’ve seen, they will crush your dreams and kill your heroes. But not even death will be enough. Because dead heroes cannot defend themselves, the “deep-state,” or the “hidden hand”, will destroy your hero’s reputation and attempt to erase his, or her memory. They will retract awards, accolades, cancel the reruns of their TV shows and rename the streets that were renamed in their honor. And they will do it with whatever misdemeanor the herd thinks is the worst social crime of the era. Cheated on his wife. Reputed to be gay. Exposed himself in public and, “manipulated his genitalia.” Smoked weed, and inhaled. Beat up his wife, girlfriend, gay-lover, bartender. Crashed a car into a tree. Is a suspected pedophile and human trafficker, and child eater!
Don’t panic.
It’s okay to have dreams. Just know that there is a circle of demons out there who will attempt to crush your dreams, out of love for you. Those who will attach their dreams to your wagon. Those who are competing with you. Stalkers, and psychotic fans who want to be you. And the most insidious of all, from our perspective, those who will offer to facilitate your dreams and ambitions, for a beyond lifetime cut of the revenue you generate.
Just sayin’.
