Tordito (Quiscalus lugubris): A bird that is no longer so common

in #birds8 days ago

I took these photos last week when I went for a walk with my husband in a large area near my house. During one of our walks, I spotted this beautiful bird searching for food on the ground, and I was pleasantly surprised and delighted, as it had been a long time since I'd seen them. This absence has saddened me because, as I mentioned, they used to be very common birds in Venezuela, to the point that people often said they should be declared the National Bird due to their abundance and adaptability. However, they are now almost extinct.
