Australian University Launches Nation’s First Open Blockchain Course

TLDR; The entry-level program will cost AUD$1,500 and will be open to all entrants, students or otherwise, on learning how to adapt and apply blockchain technology across industries.

RMIT vice-chancellor Martin Bean underlined the emergence of the blockchain sector, stating:

“Blockchain is now becoming a core part of contemporary digital literacy and we’re delighted to offer an industry-focused program…”

As a recent Upwork survey reveals, ‘Bitcoin’ is the single biggest skillset sought after by employers, a trend that isn’t lost on students and young professionals looking to gain an education on the decentralized technology for the future job market. The supply of talent for the growing industry, estimated by Gartner to hit $176 by 2025 and a staggering $3.1 trillion by 2030, simply does not meet demand.

Comment: Blockchain is THE future and learning the ropes of it will prep you for many opportunities

Japanese Crypto Exchanges Tap Star Power for Marketing Arms Race

TLDR; Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges have been very active in advertising their services. Several exchanges including Bitflyer, DMM Bitcoin, Tech Bureau’s Zaif and the hacked exchange Coincheck have been tapping into star power and launching TV commercials with original music.

Comment: I love how Japan is so accepting with different cultures and trends! Talk about Japan – I remember I went to Tokyo and was lost trying to find my hotel but this one nice gentleman stopped and helped me locate where my hotel was AND he helped me bring my heavy baggage there.
