The Best Bitcoin Exchanges of 2018 - Buy and Sell Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies
There are hundreds of bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchanges in the internet, choosing the right bitcoin exchanges for 2018 can have big impact on your overall experience in the crypto market.
Not all Bitcoin exchanges are created for the same purpose, so depending on your needs, you may need to use multiple exchanges to buy your favorite cryptocurrency.
Verify your exchange account as soon as you can
After deciding which bitcoin exchanges are best suited for your needs, sign-up and verify your exchange account as soon as you can. You don't want to wait for the verification process when you are in a hurry to catch a bull market.
The Best Bitcoin exchanges to use in 2018
The 24 hours trading volume of this exchange exceeds $2.9 Billion, which makes it the most active cryptocurrency exchange in the world.
This cryptocurrency exchange supports 94 different cryptocurrencies with 224 trading pairs. With a trading fee as low as 0.1%, this exchange is ideal for anyone who's serious about trading cryptocurrencies.
This exchange only deals with cryptocurrency based pairs, which means it doesn't support any fiat currency, so the only option to fund your account is through one of the 94 supported cryptocurrencies.
What I really like about this cryptocurrency exchange is that it is very fast, I mean the fastest exchange I've ever used. Even with over 2 million users that are already using it, you can expect your buy and sell order to get executed immediately.
Summary:
This bitcoin exchange is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. So if you are from Canada and you are looking for an exchange to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin Gold using the Canadian Dollar, then this is the best Canadian exchange that you can find right now.
This exchange is also available in all countries. You can trade all pairs without the need of any account verification. However, if your account in not verified you can only deposit and withdraw cryptocurrencies. So for example, you can deposit Bitcoin to your account, trade BTC/CAD pair as much as you want, then when you decide to withdraw your funds, convert them to one of the supported cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold) then withdraw it to your preferred wallet.
If you want to fund your account using fiat currencies (CAD or USD), then you need to verify your account first. The account vefirication is available for all countries except the United Stated of America.
The account verification are processed within 72 hours and they accept international IDs too.
Even if you don't need a verfied account, I advise you to start the verification process as soon as you can, this way if you ever need to deposit/withdraw fiat currencies in the future, you will already have a verified account and start depositing/withdrawing fiat without any delay.
Summary:

At the moment of writing this post, this exchange support 4 cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Bitcoin cash. However, you can expect this list to grow next year (2018) as they have expressed their intention to support more cryptocurrencies and tokens (ICO tokens).
Summary:
This is one of the oldest Bitcoin exchanges that has been up and running since 2012 based in Helsinki, Finland. Unlike other exchanges in this post, this is a peer-to-peer Bitcoin exchange, which means that this website matches buyers and sellers and it's up to them to agree on the terms and the payment method.
When dealing with this p2p bitcoin exchange, you should always choose buyers/sellers with good feedback and lot of trades, especially if you are the seller.
Don't use Paypal to conduct deals because of the high risk of chargeback.
This exchange is available in all countries except Germany and the state of New York. For a lot of people around the world, this may be the only way to buy or sell bitcoin.
Summary:
This is also one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges that are still operational. They accept customers from all over the world except for the United States which they stopped serving just recently.
This exchange is one of the most liquid cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, which means that buying or selling large amount of a crytpocurrency won't affect its price by a lot, thus you'll pretty much be paying the same price whether you buy a small or large ammount of any cryptocurrency.
The spread between the Bids (Buying offers) and the Asks (Selling offers) is very low for most markets, this will benefit you especially if you are day-trader.
Summary:
This is a derivative exchange, and in the case of this exchange all contracts are bought and sold in Bitcoin. The only available method for funding your account is through Bitcoin, after that you can trade all the available contracts.
This is a very liquid exchange with Billions of dollars traded daily. If you are a daily trader and are looking for an exchange with high leverage and ability to short cryptocurrencies, this exchange will do it for you.

Excellent reviews though many other reliable or at least popular exchanges such as Kraken, Bittrex, Poloniex and Livecoin are not mentioned at all!
You should think of second part of your post :)
This post is about the best exchanges you can use.
Kraken has the worst trading engine, Bittrex and Poloniex have the worst customer services, reddit/bitcointalk is full of horror stories of users having their account suspended/frozen and funds stuck even when they have a verified account.
I use the exchanges that are listed on this post myself and I had no problem with any of them whatsoever. I made sure to make the list short so that I only list quality exchanges that I trust myself. Using a combination of these exchanges, you can pretty much buy any cryptocurrency/token you want.
