Bill Gates Had Predicted Bitcoin That Is Better Than Currency

A number of the world's leading investors have considered bitcoin madness, with a few caveats to avoid it "like an outbreak" and others say it's okay if invested properly and in a controlled manner.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates hasn't talked too much about the problem lately, but he has expressed positive opinions in the past.

"Bitcoin is very interesting because it shows how cheap it is," billionaire Bill Gates told Bloomberg in 2014.

"Bitcoin is better than currency because you don't have to be physically in the same place and of course, and because of large transactions, currencies can be very troublesome," he added.

Crypto currency like bitcoin can be used to buy goods without intermediaries, meaning that a bank is not needed. Although the traditional banking system can charge high transaction fees, but bitcoin allows global transactions to take place at a lower cost and this is very interesting.

Just because it's "better than a currency" doesn't mean Crypto currency will replace ancient money. In an interview with Backchannel in 2015, Gates stressed that bitcoin technology is a technology that can "make money move between countries easier and get costs down quite dramatically".
