Is Bitcoin For Criminals? No, But This One Took A Liking To It!

If you've heard of Bitcoin then you've probably heard that Bitcoin is for Criminals. I don't belive that to be true but in all fairness criminals do seem to be a bit a partial to it. Ask Mr Ulbricht the founder and adminstrator of the The Silk Road Website, who's mission in life was to supply drugs to anyone who wanted it and had a bit of Bitcoin to spare.
The appeal of Bitcoin to the underworld lies in the fact that Bitcoin transactions are anonymous, but evidently not as anonymous as criminals seem to think. Mr Ulbricht was eventually caught and send to jail.....for life! The problem with technology is that it relies on humans to operate it which will always be it's downfall.

It has to be said that some people, including Mr Ulbricht himself don't see his activities as criminal. I use the word criminal in the context that he did something that is punishable by law. Whether the law is right or wrong I really can't be asked to go into . Every moment spent on thinking about Mr Ulbreich is a moment less I spend on getting myself depressed on the size of my portfolio. I'd rather stress on why I see billions of pounds coming and going in to the Crypto markets and not much of it is landing in my wallet!

Here's a video on how Mr Ulbricht was eventually caught and the Silk Road Website Brought down.

Before you watch the video can I just quickly stress that to my knowledge the majority of Bitcoin holders are law abiding citizens, mostly just looking for a good investment and in some parts of the world just trying to fight the ravages of inflation and poverty.

Happy viewing!
