A leading Wall Street research firm has received confirmation that China-based Bitmain — by far the largest producer of miners that use Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) chips has begun producing Ethereum ASIC miners F3.
The Ethereum F3 ASIC miner is expected to hit the market in Q2 or Q3 2018.

I think ASIC is bad for Ethereum as the ASIC mining hashing power will centralize Ethereum.
