How Much Does it Cost to Join the ‘Bitcoin Vladimir Club’? And What About the ‘Steem Vladimir Club’?

"Vladimir Club what!?"

Yes, the Vladimir Club. It is actually a thing. The Bitcoin Vladimir Club was born in 2012 (see original Bitcointalk post and everyone can be a member as long as you have 1% of 1% of all the Bitcoin. That basically comes down to 1/10,000th of all the Bitcoins that will ever be mined, or 2,100 BTC.

Unfortunately I am not a member of this exclusive club. Also not a member not of the Ethereum Vladimir Club or the Monero Vladimir Club. Too bad. I hope you are ;-)

In the original post author ‘calian’ writes:

“So how many are aspiring to join this exclusive group? How many are already in it? Vladimir has stated that he thinks BTC2100 coins is a good number to acquire going forward. That's 1% of 1% of all the coins ever. It means the maximum number of members of this club would be 10,000 if it were formed 125 years from now and all the coins were divided equally. Right now it's not even half that.”
Unless we get a freak dip into the pennies I'm probably way too late on the scene to make it into those ranks. However I'll keep dollar cost averaging until things get too rich for my taste (a long ways from the $10.65 it is right now).”

Let’s hope for ‘calian’ he managed to collect enough BTC to join the club.

I’ve made a small list of how much it costs to join a specific Vladimir Club. This is how much a membership is going to cost you (today):

  • Bitcoin Vladimir Club = $15.94M
  • Ethereum Vladimir Club = $9.00M
  • Monero Vladimir Club = $380,141
  • Zilliqa Vladimir Club = $268,019
  • Steem Vladimir Club = $157,626
  • Nxt Vladimir Club = $14,550

There are definitely some members here on Steemit who are actually also a member of the Steem Vladimir Club. For instance @exyle, @knozaki2015, @jrcornel, @sweetsssj, @kevinwong and @acidyo just to randomly name a few. Congrats!

So, which Vladimir Club would you like to aim for?

Haha, Vladimir club... I wish :)
I'm still working my way up to the 1BTC club :(
I could be there if I sold some alts, but I need my alts too

Personally I also like to spread my chances, so joining any Vladimir Club is probably not going to happen :-)

Same!
But some alts I have mainly in order to eventually cash out into BTC, like STRAT (damn you, STRAT!!)
If I find a good point to sell those which were meant to sell anyway, I would be on my way to where I want to be!

I'd like to be in the steemit vladmir club, but I guess that'll take some time ;)

This might be the big irony surrounding BTC - the few hands that control the majority of the wealth. BTC has been used (like gold and silver in the past) as the alternative to centralization and central banks, but the opposite seems to be true. Even less hands control the wealth when it comes to Bitcoin. Don't get wrong we track BTC daily and have a passion for the tech, but making it a new world currency (like some would argue for) is very drastic.
