3 Countries tell IMF they want to issue bitcoin bonds

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Afghanistan, Tunisia, and Uzbekistan all told the IMF they are interested in issuing bitcoin bonds.

The IMF mentioned that this was possible to do, however suggested that they start with a ""closed/sandbox" approach at first. This would make any of these countries 1st at issuing bitcoin bonds.

The implications this has for adoption are astounding. Entire world governments are admitting that bitcoin has value and want to integrate it into their economies. This is a huge step amongs other news surrounding cryptocurrency. If these countries end up adopting bitcoin then it's only a matter of time for FOMO to kick in and other countries want to be involved as well.

The future of bitcoin looks bright with news like this. This could end up adding billions and eventually trillions of dollars to the cryptocurrency market.
