There's problems with most altcoins in the coming bitcoin hard fork

If you haven't already heard, there is a scaling problem with the bitcoin core protocol. In other words bitcoin has grown too fast and too big for it's original design to handle. See https://cointelegraph.com/tags/hard-fork
Also and unfortunately, most bitcoin enthusiasts are totally avoiding the discussions on exactly what will happen to bitcoins' side chains - as most altcoins are attached and linked to the bitcoin core. Consequently, if the core bitcoin splits on August 1, 2017 and the crypto world gets 2 separate distinct blockchains, then most altcoins will also be affected! How much, you ask? No one really knows, but we will soon find out! :(
