Spanish Telecom Giant Telefonica Embraces Bitcoin Payments

One of the largest telephone drivers and mobile network providers in Spain – Telefonica – partnered with the crypto exchange Bit2Me to allow guests to pay for services in digital means.

Cryptocurrency relinquishment seems to be on a high position in the Iberian country. A many months agone , the leading airline company – Vueling – said trippers will be suitable to buy flight tickets in bitcoin and other means from January 2023.
Telefonica Says ‘ Yes ’ to Crypto
The Madrid- grounded pot allowed guests to settle bills in several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin( BTC), Ether( ETH), Litecoin( LTC), Circle’s stablecoin USDC, and others on its online business named Tu.

To enable the crypto payments, Telefonica joined forces with the Spanish digital asset platform Bit2Me, which handed the structure and will oversee the deals.
The news seized the attention of the Chief Executive Officer of Binance – Changpeng Zhao( CZ) – since he participated it on his particular Twitter account.

It's worth noting that his company lately expanded its presence in the Spanish request. Two months agone , Binance’s attachment – Moon Tech Spain – entered nonsupervisory blessing to register as a Virtual Asset Services Provider( VASP) in the European country.

Vueling Also Jumped on the Bandwagon
Another prominent Spanish establishment that joined crypto’s ecosystem in the once many months is the Barcelona- grounded airline Vueling.
In June, it banded with BitPay to allow guests to buy tickets in 13 different digital means, similar as Bitcoin( BTC), Ether( ETH), Bitcoin Cash( BCH), Litecoin( LTC), Dogecoin( DOGE), Shiba Inu( SHIB), and others.

The move is anticipated to see the light of day at the morning of 2023, which would turn Vueling into the first low- cost airline in Europe to embrace cryptocurrencies as a payment system.
BitPay’s Vice President of Marketing – Merrick Theobald – said the Spanish establishment “ recognizes the eventuality of cryptocurrencies to transfigure the airline assiduity, making payments briskly, more secure, and less precious on a global scale. ”
