MY FRIEND MARC PUBLISHED A BOOK & I BOUGHT A COPY ONLINE WITH BITCOINS
It is a very special moment when a dear friend of yours publishes a book, last night I spent a few hours with friends supporting our buddy Marc who published his first book. We gathered at the Barns & Noble in Oceanside, then we listed to Marc talk about his experiences that helped him put together ways to help organizations get on the same page. His book “Leading with Purpose” gives organizations a blue print for creating a powerful one page plan to help engage & empower their employees.
After Marc presented his book & answered some questions, most everyone bought his book & got it autographed. I decided to buy the book as well, but I wanted to pay for it differently … by differently I mean, I wanted to pay for it with Bitcoins.
I found the paperback book atBarnsandnoble.com and I looked for a way to pay for it using my Bitcoins. Two choices were available to me:
eGifter.com
Gyft.com
Both sites would do the job as they both allowed me to buy a Barns and Noble gift card using my Bitcoins. I noticed that after shipping & taxes, the total cost of Marc’s book was $26.39, so I decided to use eGifter.com for buying the giftcard. eGifter.com allows you to buy gift cards to the exact amount needed, in my case I needed $26.39. With Gyft.com the gift card purchases must be done in $5 intervals, so that didn’t work for me.
Once I purchased the gift card with eGifter.com using my Airbitz Inc digital wallet, I went back to my shopping cart with Barns and Noble, then I entered the recently purchased gift card number and the pin number. The order was processed & I had successfully completed this transaction with the use of Bitcoins all the way.
Today I worked on completing this blog post & before publishing it I decided to quickly go to Overstock.com & take a look around since I knew they accepted bitcoins. Well, wouldn’t you know it, I actually could have boughtMarc’s book at Overstock.com & paid for it with Bitcoins without the need of the eGifter.com gift card. This is way cool & really good info to know for future online purchases.
