The BTC-e Crypt-Exchange Exchange will resume work in 7-10 days, despite attempts by the United States to fined it for $ 110 million.
US authorities plan to recover $ 110 million from the Russian Cripta Exchange Exchanges BTC-e, for Violating Money Laundering (AML) laws. This was stated by the Ministry of Justice (DoJ), the BTC-e, which has been out of reach for two days, said it intends to resume operations.
Also, Alexander Vinnik, the alleged owner of the BTC-e, was detained in Greece on July 25 on charges of money laundering of $ 4 billion and is suspected of involvement in the hijacking of Mt. Gox in 2013
"FinCEN today commended the BTC-e fine for a deliberate violation of AML laws worth $ 110 million," the Ministry of Justice said.
"The role of Alexander Vynnik in this case is estimated at $ 12 million."
Closing exchanges?
While in the United States there is no legal jurisdiction over the BTC-e exchange as a business, since it is not based on their territory, the authorities still intend to finch the stock exchange for activities allegedly covering the territory of the United States.
"Everything you read about their participation in this is just words to justify the closure of exchanges," reads the article in Reddit, where a document from the Ministry of Justice was presented.
At the same time, the Twitter exchange yesterday wrote a post where it was said that she could return to the online mode after "5-10 days" after completing the technical work on "restoration of service".
