One Coin Collector Asks - "What Is Bitcoin?"

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Our associate non-chalantly said, "It is a de-centralized digital currency, that is the token used, to move and record information on the Blockchain, which is the public ledger that records all it's transactions, that has mathematically conquered the problem of double-spending, which is why up until now we have had to have third parties to record and maintain transactions. It records transactions, does not allow for double-spending, and we no longer need a middle man to do the record keeping. It is considered a `virtual currency'. "

They looked at me, and we looked at him, thinking, "That certainly was a mouthful, bet you wouldn't want to say that five times."
Then asks, "Do they really exist, except in the Mario Brothers world of computers, and video game play money"?
I said, "I don't really know."
They then ask, "So what value does it have?"

I said, "Whether one understands it or not, according to natural law, It ONLY has the value WE give it. You and I. Things get their value because WE, as conscious living beings, assign and give it it's value. That's the concept with anything we choose to assign value to. It is as WE say it is. Independent of governments, authorities and/or rulers. Two people, You and I, agreeing on an assignment. Then making the Deal.

Today, people value it at $1,350.00 per coin. I may not understand it, or have any use for it, but will buy all you have for $1,150.00 per coin. Sell it for $1,250.00 per coin and make a profit.
Giving all parties value as we have chosen and agreed upon.
Pretty good deal, huh? That's The Value!

Since our speaker is to give a keynote presentation on U.S. Commemorative coins, Classic and Modern, Gold & Silver collectible coins, we thought to quiet down a bit and get started. So I gave our guest these titles to type into google search engine and YouTube video channel. Soon all this information will be on Steemit.com and Steemit's D.Tube and other de-centralized video and Social Networking sites.

  1. Introduction to Bitcoin.
  2. Bitcoin for beginners.
  3. Bitcoin De-mystified.
  4. What is Bitcoin?

After mentioning these ideas, I am sure they will get the knack of finding information for themselves. These videos are a good start for understanding bitcoin & blockchain technology, as well as other crypto-currencies or alt-coins, as they are often referred to.
You can read about what is going on around the world concerning this technology and foreign countries' involvement and how it will impact banking and world currencies and money transactions, at the online news service of crypto-currencies, www.Coin Desk.com .

That is a start. In the meantime, while we contribute articles to internet sites and various communication outlets, and comments contributed to various blogs, the QR Code below represents the numbers and letters below it. So those of you who have `bitcoin wallets' can scan this QR code or type/copy in this public address and send BTC donation. We create value and share donations, as we move along this exciting time of historical change.
So .00001 is equivalent to .10 cents US. We will pass on your generosity. Click the send button. Pretty cool, Isn't it? Exciting too, huh? :)
