CoinMarketCap Public API to be removed on December 4th, 2018

CoinMarketCap's public API will be removed and they will offer only Professional API. It's possible to use the professional API with limits, but you need to sign up for a API key and you can only make 200 API calls per day using the free account.

The annoucement doesn't say much about the take down of the public API. The above image is displayed in the public API page.

I shared my cryptocurrency portfolio template for google sheets. Users will have to get API keys by signing up. If you set it to auto update every 10 minutes. That's 144 times a day. So it'll have to fetch the entire results with only 2 requests. I'm not sure it will be possible.

So, I'll have to lookup for another service that provides simular APIs.

Any alternatives anyone?

I also updated the cryptocurrency portfolio template to version 2.2. But I don't think it'll be too useful after December.
