If Bitcoin dies, do all the alt-coins go with it?

Ultimately, I am wondering how my favorite alt-coins would do if BTC dies... I mean, segwit is yet to happen after all... Granted there are BTC ATM machines in virtually every mall, I cant help but wonder if I have heard the phrase "shes to big to sink" before. Thoughts? I am rather terrified
