One of the most common incidents in the cryptocurrency sector, unfortunately, is hacking. This year, the attack rate has increased greatly.  One of the latest cases occurred in Japan, specifically in the Zaif exchange, which reported capital and user losses of up to $ 60 million.  The cyber attack was corroborated last Monday, September 17, when the representatives of the exchange alerted their clients and suspended the operations of transfers, deposits and withdrawals. Then, on Tuesday 18, they alerted the authorities, while making sure that the threat was outside their network.  Investigations continue to develop, but authorities stressed that the attack could have started on September 14, specifically towards the company's 'hot wallet' -a digital wallet where exchange firms have funds ready for exchanges, so that do not have high security measures.  Regarding stolen funds, Zaif representatives said that the hackers were made of amounts equivalent to 6.7 billion yen (about US $ 60 million) in Bitcoins (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and MonaCoin.

On the other hand, of all the funds, about 2.2 billion yen or 32% belongs to the company as capital gains, while about 4.5 billion yen corresponded to customers.

The directors of Zaif recently assured that they will try to obtain a loan for 5 billion yen in order to cancel the debt they have with the clients; likewise, they will be notifying any other action or measure to be taken in the face of another event.

In past months, the Japanese authorities established a series of regulations at the exchange and ICOs level. Although the country of the rising sun is known for its advances, the new measures will bring a challenge to modern financial progress tilted towards the digital balance.
