The website Bitcoin.org publicly condemn supporters Segwit2x
Resource Bitcoin.org announced his intention to place on each page of the website banner with a warning about the risks of using the services of companies that support the decision Segwit2x.
As reported in the blog, the banner with the list storonik hard forks will appear on all pages of the site on 11 October. Also representatives Bitcoin.org recommended cryptocurrency companies to tell us about his attitude to Segwit2x until the relevant date.
In particular, the administration of the portal Bitcoin.org wish to obtain the following information:
does the company a “true” bitcoin (Ticker symbol BTC) fork, the resulting activation Segwit2x (S2X);
will the company take any action that would deprive the users of their BTC (for example, to use special software to automatically convert deposits in bitcoin on S2X, etc.);
will the company continue to provide Core supporters of the Bitcoin an acceptable level of service and continue to functionality of their services.
Also the site says that despite the fact that the administration Bitcoin.org is a staunch opponent of the decision for scaling Segwit2x, the resource believes it is acceptable if the company provides users with access to two competing digital assets [as in the case of Bitfinex — approx. ForkLog].
Among the companies that, according to preliminary data, has already entered the “black list” Bitcoin.org include: Bitcoin.com, bitFlyer, Bitfury, Bitmain, BitPesa, the Blockchain, Bloq, BTC.com, BTCC, Civic, Coinbase, Decentral, Digital Currency Group, Genesis Mining, Grayscale Investments, Jaxx, Korbit, ShapeShift, Xapo and other well-known representatives of kryptonyte.
Finally, the resource said that the decision for scaling SegWit2x has nothing to do with the Protocol SegWit, which is already activated in the network of bitcoin.
The decision of the resource Bitcoin.org caused a mixed reaction in the cryptocurrency community. In particular, the CEO and founder of blockchain startup Bloq Jeff garzik's called the decision “a culture of repression — 2017”:
CEO of the platform ShapeShift Eric Vorhes also negatively reacted to the decision of the popular resource about bitcoin:
"Using bitcoin.org for [advocacy] political positions ... not a good precedent," he wrote on the social network Reddit.
We will remind, earlier service Badbitcoin.org removed from the catalog trusted sites Bitcoin news resource. com, headed by a staunch supporter of Segwit2x Roger Ver.
