Bitconnect Scam? Day 3.1 - Buying BCC from the exchange - WHY?

My BTC deposit just got confirmed and the 2nd step was to convert my BTC to BCC. At this point, if I don't understand why we need to buy BCC coins to lend Bitcoins. I'll have to keep chugging along and maybe we'll have more clues.

I used my entrie 0.05BTC to buy 1.64 BCC coins.
