We have gained $308B in total market cap in about 30 days! -- Nov. 12th to Dec. 12th, 2017.

Fact: JPMC Market Cap Today: $370.74B
I've never seen a regular series or resource running on Steemit to continually address this basic need so I decided to do it.
Bitcoin Leading w. 60% of Market Cap:
With BTC (Core/Legacy chain only) crossing the $300B market cap just today/ the last few hours for the 2nd time in a week -- as of today, BTC (core chain) fully makes up 60% of the total crypto space market cap.
BTC crossed the $300B market cap / 1st time on Dec. 8th, approx. 12:15 am UST/ or ~7:15 pm EST---- and today again just hours ago, finding consolidation and support there this last week.
BTC began the year at about $12.5B total market cap and we have not included the forks of BTC in these numbers either!
Here is the 1 year chart for that, hovering over the start 365 days ago:
That math equates to roughly a ~24x gain in 12 mths, just for BTC... the CALENDAR year is not over yet!

Wow... that IS a pretty spectacular piece of news! I saw a prediction for $2 trillion before the end of 2018... that doesn't look completely out of the ballpark now...

Do you think the 60% ratio is going to stay? They were near 50/50 for a little while. I think some of the extraordinary gains in Bitcoin is going to shift into the alt-markets bringing the ratio closer back to 50/50.
Tough to say, I have been highly involved the last 16 mths so I remember a year ago, when BTC was down to like 34% of market cap share.
