The Bitshares production network broke a new Transaction record this week, reaching more than 850,000+ operations in 1 day! That is an average of 9.83 Operations Per Second!
Just encase your missed it. 9.83 Operations Per Second! on the Bitshares main network, it all happened without anybody even noticing.. i.e this is not peak theoretical or a point at which the network ground to a halt; this is organic growth and represents use of network; to give you an idea of scale-ability the Bitshares decentralized test network has been stress tested to preform over 20,000 operations per second and average hardware. Please see the screenshot below this section

They posted to their facebook and twitter followers this week the following message:"Crypviser concerns about recent problems within Ethereum network and sees the current situation as unreliable and business critical for our project. The speed of transactions for the authentication system is too important to be disregarded. Crypviser app is expected to be widely used by millions of clients all around the world. In order to achieve it and bring superb quality solutions to the market, one of the key factors is maximum speed of transactions. Therefore we have decided to move on with Bitshares blockchain." Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.
This is ALOT of information. I read it but being a new user and new to cryptocurrency I must admit that I'm having a hard time understanding everything. What do you recommend as a good starting point for someone in my position?
I have a good resource for anyone in your position coming out in a couple of weeks that will help fill in the background history of Bitshares.
To get an introduction i would highly recommend a really good videos series by Chronos Crypto
That's probably the most intriging thing you wrote so far !
I hope you'll publish it in here so I can 100% upvote your content. You have become a key component of the BitShares marketing. Your SOTN are the best place to have a complete overview of the BitShares ecosystem weekly evolution.
Thank you for your amazing work !
Apppreciate the kind comment and attention to detail :)
I hope that i have not oversold the resource. I imagine you have already seen the content i am just repackaging it for ease of consumption :)

Thank you so much for sharing this video, @steempower. I'm excited about Bitshares but looking to understand things better. :)
Thank you very much. I am going to get started with this and I look forward to your future publications. Thanks again!

Great post @steempower, could you include my updated post regarding BSIP-019 and my Bitshares-UI Customization Guide please?
Best regards,
@CM-Steem
I have your Bitshares UI Customization guide on the list for next week and i will update post to include the updated BSIP shortly.
Cheers man
Cool, thanks :)
good news that crypviser decided to launch using bitshares rather than ethereum - it shows the momenteum is shifting -- great post and i it helps me learn a lot quickly too
100% This also fits well into the 850,000 Operations in 1 day / 9 per second! as mentioned we ran a stress-test showing capabilities of over 20,000 operations per second on cheap hardware. If the network was doing 20,000 Ops per second imagine how profitable the DAC would be an as such we could pay our block producers to have much better hardware than the hobby rigs used for stresstest :)
As someone that has tried to get into ETH ico in the last few weeks and experienced the results first hand i cannot imagine how someone could run a production grade system on Ethereum as it stands today (99% of the time it is fine but if someone can flood the network and bring TXs to a halt it would obviously impact certain business models). I know they have things in the pipeline to hopefully resolve this issue.
you are kind to reply and i am not technically aware - i hope to learn by reading a lot of posts here on steem and on your page too - i am a musician and artist - some of my music and paintings are up on my page and i write about travel and day to day too - your welcome to drop in if your interested and i would value your advice on what i should post about too -David

I think this is the best news of the week. Better than the actual tps record. We already know what bitshares is capable of, anyways.
yar right Great Work! useful info.
I was a little nervous to buy into Bitshares a few months ago, because I read somewhere that Bitshares was dead. Now, with a profit of over 1600%, I'm glad I didn't listen. If this is what a "dead" coin looks like, then let them all die...
Nice work man!, when i hear something is dead or a scam especially on a troll box or something similar it makes me want to look into it more. you can obviously see that the project is far from dead!! we just lack the marketing and pr that some project over compensate with.
Just an idea, as a UI UX Designer you might find that you can actually get employed by the Bitshares network (voted in by shareholders and paid by the Blockchain). We are hiring at the moment and high on the list is front end dev (we have a good guy in that regard) and UI UX Designer would be great to compliment his efforts.
Would you be interested in doing some work for Bitshares Network? work would be focused on the wallet and improving the user experience and presentation.
It would be amazing to work on a project that I admire, Could you email me more details?

Every time I read these updates I think, "Why isn't BTS No. 2 on CMC?"
Hold BTS everywhere, it will on moon soon.
One step at a time :)
Holy freaking crap on a stick this was super intensive !
thanks for this
Its crazy how much of a major player China is in all of this, it REALLY makes me wonder what the entire crypto space would be like if China and india werent apart of it... like i honestly wonder
so much of the mining for certain coins comes from china, where would we be without them?
Thanks for this useful information, you were very detailed in your explanations. But is still very difficult for me to understand.
Thanks for the comment @moderninvestor
In regards to Bitshares specifically China has really only burst onto the scene in terms of trading volume (there has always been a large active Chinese community) in the last month with the introduction of Bitshares on CHBTC and a few other Chinese exchanges and partnerships with ViewFin as well as some Chinese ICOs coming onto the Bitshares network.
You can see they really dominating the market at the moment.
I have a friend of mine who is living in China at the moment, and he said nearly all of his colleagues, all day all they talk about are the newest and latest coins and how to invest in them.
he said at first he paid them no mind but eventually everyone he knew was doing the same, i think theyre going to have an absolutely massive infuence in the crypto world, even more than they have right now
ETH and BTS have potential in crypto wonderfull

A huge amount of information this week again, thanks a bunch for all of it, including the very valuable links!
Namaste :)
Thanks for being a long term follower Eric, Namaste :)
I would like to know what is your thoughts about bitcoin's drivechain? Will you be willing to list drivechain assets? What may be the impact of drivechains on the altcoins market?
Sadly i am not familiar with drivechain at the moment, but i have made a note to look into it :)
Thanks for the comment
Some more info

Thanks for the comment. I'll be sure to follow.
Amazing news.. Lovely to see the platform is doing well and healthy. Poloniex seemed to have some trouble with their systems regarding steem.
Much support and full force ahead.
Goldie
Thanks for the comment, Polo seems to be having a few problems recently and from what i can see it is mainly on there end e.g Bitshares and Steem were working fine on other exchanges and the network itself but polo still halted withdrawals.
