Fight Breakdown-

The match start out with a lot of hand fighting, Kochel presses forward while Messer retreats on the feet. Messer pulls down on Kochel's head and tries to set up an Ankle Pick, but it is unsuccessful. Andrew gets a elbow deep hold of the back of his opponents neck with one arm, an over-hook on the other side then sits guard nearly underneath his opponent. Immediately upon sitting guard he hits a beautiful Butterfly/Scissor Sweep to Half Guard. His opponent responds by trying to setup De La Riva, Andrew back steps out of this but his opponent takes this opportunity to set up a Double Leg. Andrew looked for a Guillotine during the takedown, but it did not materialize this time. Andrew now on his back pulls a modified Mission Control guard, his opponent looks to stuff his inside leg down and pass but almost get swept again for this trouble, this sweep put Messer off balance long enough for Kochel to scramble to his feet leveraging another attempt for that Guillotine. Both athletes are on their feet but Messer already looks fatigued, standing straight up and backpedaling, Kochel however is in a wrestling stance and stalking him. Kochel looking for a leg attack, dives and goes inverted, but ends up with Butterfly Guard instead. His opponent, likely fearing another Butterfly Sweep backs off leaving Kochel in Sitting Guard with no pressure from Messer. Kochel then opts to stand up, while his opponent is still down on one knee. Kochel explosively looking for maybe a Flying Triangle, jumps and throws his legs out, but just as he made his move, his opponent was standing up. Kochel now on his back in Half Guard looking very comfortable, easily shrugging off his opponents half hearted reach for a guillotine, Kochel then poped back to his feet without much resistance. Both men again on their feet, Kochel again stalking while his opponent backs away until Kochel catches him with another elbow deep grip around his neck. Messer looks to jump guard but lands flat on his back, Kochel dives to try and pass. Messer re-guards, then Kochel tries for a Heel-Hook, his opponent defends. Kochel comes out of this scramble on top in Half-Guard with a Shin-Pin, then goes back to the Heel-Hook, his opponent escapes, ends up on top only to fall into Kochel's Triangle Choke! (Wow these guys are fast!). Kochel couldn't finalize it this time, goes back to Butterfly Guard, then to Sitting Guard from where he maniacally jumped a Triangle choke, landing it this time. Even though his opponent put forth a good effort to escape, this time Kochel was able to lock it up tight putting his opponent way! Another super impressive win for Andrews Highlight Reel!
