Black Panther is a super American hero movie based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film is the eighteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler who also acts as screenwriter with Joe Robert Cole, and stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya , Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. In Black Panther, T'Challa returns to Wakanda to rule as king, but finds his power opposed by an old enemy in a conflict with global consequences.

Wesley Snipes first expressed his intention to work on the Black Panther movie in 1992, where the project underwent several developments over the next decade, but ultimately to no avail. In September 2005, a Black Panther movie was revealed as one of the films to be developed by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures, with Mark Bailey appointed to write the screenplay in January 2011. Black Panther was officially announced in October 2014, with Boseman performing first for the first time in Captain America: Civil War. Cole and Coogler join the film at the end of 2015, while the rest of the cast is announced in May 2016. The shoot for the film runs from January to April 2017 at EUE / Screen Gems Studios and Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Atlanta, and Busan, South Korea .

Black Panther is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 16, 2018.
