My 20-Year Old Friend's First Ever Birthday Cake

in #blog7 years ago

This is Glory Jane. We live in the same flat and she just turned 20 today. We always talk about anything and one time she told us that she never had a cake before. That was maybe a few months ago. My other flatmates and I then decided that we had to buy her a cake.

It's midterms week. We have have a loooot of subjects to study and we are all tired from exams and we're emotionally exhausted. College is very stressful but we managed to cook some foods. We're not really good cooks but we tried our best because we love her. We had sweet spaghetti, roasted chicken and of course, cake. She didn't know we bought a cake. We kept it from her. For a moment, we could feel that she's disappointed but she doesn't really show it because she's always grateful to everything. She thought we only cooked sweet spaghetti.

We switched the lights off and told her that we should just switch it off so that it looks like a surprise because our spaghetti turned out good. When we opened the door, and she saw the cake, she was jumping up and down and couldn't contain her happiness. We were so happy for her. She's such cheerful person. Until now, she won't stop smiling.

We only ate about 6 slices and there's 4 of us. It's just about one-fourth of the cake because we were so full from rice and roasted chicken but we'll eat it tomorrow. Anyway, I'm just sharing happiness. I hope this post makes you happy too and make us all grateful about what life gives us. That is all, thank you for reading :)

You are a good person, I'm happy there are still people who care about others :)

Never had a birthday cake in 20 years? You and your roommates made her day. God Bless!

Yes, this is her first birthday cake but she never really complained :) Thank you
