VIDEO GAME REVIEW // Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a first person shooter video game and the enhanced remake of the first installment to the Halo game series. Alongside the release of Halo 4, this game was announced. A remastered version of the first game that started it all. The graphics get tweaked to look much much better as the graphics in all games have evolved in the last decade between the original Xbox and the Xbox One. It's only right they remaster one of the most popular games in the history of the Xbox. This version of the game was released on November 15, 2011 and can be played on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.
Halo is a futuristic space combat game. You play as a character that everyone calls Master Chief, a soldier woken from a cryogenic freezer when the ship that your on gets invaded by The Covenant. Aided by an Artificial Intelligence named Cortana, you fight against the Covenant, figuring out ways to cripple the enemy forces. As you get deeper into enemey territory you discover that the Covenant had been searching for something that could destroy all living things in the universe. The Flood. They're like zombie aliens that come after any living thing in the vicinity. Human or alien. Once revealed, they become a problem as much as the Covenant. It's pretty fucking crazy. And a classic game for any Xbox gamer out there. If you've never played this game from beginning to end, then add it to your list. It's a game all gamers must experience.
One feature about this game that I thought was awesome was that when you press the select button, you can switch back and forth from the old graphics to the remastered graphics and see first hand the huge difference between the old and the new. Every level I went to and every alien I saw, I clicked that select button to see what kind of changes they made to the game. And they are some crazy changes, no doubt. This game reminded me a lot of Doom. I remember playing this one and beating it all in one day with my cousin. It was definitely one of the more happier times in my life. I love this game and I will be playing the second one very soon. 5/5! Play this game if you haven't! It's a must!
