Fun on the Field | A Fundraiser Game with a Twist of Injury
Its been difficult for me to show here recently due to work and studies which I am barely touching the books.
The fundraiser soccer tournament has been in the plans since earlier in February and I with just three of us opted to participate I had to show up even though I am so exhausted with the new Christchurch stadium project that I am busy with and having to work on Saturdays.
So I showed up to participate in my favorite sport. Growing up I played soccer ⚽️ a lot but I am no longer at that age and it takes five minutes on the pitch to ask for subs, I still had the skills but the energy was close to zero, i was out of my depth playing against a mix of opponents in their 20s and teens and also people my age.
I had a shot on target and one other attempt on goal that was blocked. I was pathetic, I suck at playing soccer at my age. From now on I promise to stick to hiking and table tennis which I am quite good at.
To wrap up my day I got away with either a twisted or strain ankle. God help me to be able to go to work tomorrow as I am working on a high profile new Stadium in Christchurch whose photos I will share one of these days.

I can imagine how tough it must be to balance work, studies, and physical activities like soccer, especially when you're feeling exhausted. Did the thrill of participating in the fundraiser game make it all worth it, despite the physical challenges? 💪⚽️
