Relaxing in Rotterdam, Zevenhuizerplas

Rotterdam is a very nice city. It is the second largest city in the Netherlands. About 603.000 people live there.

I like the city, but sometimes it is nice to escape the bustle of the city. It can be very crowded.
And I tell you, you can escape.....still in Rotterdam.

The place to be is the Zevenhuizerplas.
It is an artificial lake created by sand extraction.
It serves as a recreational lake. It is on the east of Rotterdam, close to the Rottemeren.
A paradise for water sports enthusiast. You can go swimming, fishing, sailing,diving,surfing and there is also a runway for waterskiing.

There are some nice beaches. There is a special dog beach, a nudist beach and the big Nesselande beach has a life guard in summer.

You can also go walking and cycling around the lake. The walk around is 7 kilometers.
You will pass some nice quit places and there are some spots for bird watching.

There are some good restuarants along the lake, so you don't have to be hungry.
There is even a skate park.

And if you have not enough exercise, do the free fitness.

Parking is not a problem, and the metro stops close to the lake. So feel free to relax.
