What is cyberbullying and cyberstalking?

in #blog6 years ago

How does the group bait on the Internet? Who is behind this and how much does it cost? What types of harassment in the network exist and what is the comparative feature between them and cyberbullying? Let's try to figure it out.

Cyberbullying is a kind of psychological pressure that is expressed in the victim's pursuit in social networks, sms messages and the posting of materials defaming the honor and dignity of the victim. Are there other types of persecution of a person in the network? What are the distinguishing features of cyberbullying?

Features and symptoms of cyberbullying

The Internet has existed for a long time, nevertheless, it was widely spread rather recently. Exactly twenty years ago someone called it "Wild West" since that time, this name has firmly settled in our heads, but could people then know about the truly endless possibilities of the World Wide Web? The Internet gave not only a rapid development of business, but also gave birth to a lot of new terms:

  • Trolling. Dissemination of information that causes anger or shame.
  • Heiting. Hard criticism without any real reason.
  • Flaming. Throwing stones between opponents in the comments.
  • Sexting. Publication of the victim's nude materials.
  • Cyberstalking. The persecution of a person, first of all, to intimidate and lead him into a panic.
  • Griefing. The actions of one player against another, aimed at interrupting the normal gameplay of the latter.

You may be misled by so many terms, however, all of them are given here with only one purpose - to present you cyberbullying as a new form of psychological violence in the form of baiting, which, unlike the above, has a systematic, a long-lasting character (tobish, not a one-off flash in the comments, but a really fixed and persistent baiting of the victim, even more prolonged than cyberstalking) and, most interestingly, not by one casual user, but by a specific person or, Even, a whole group of individuals with a specific purpose - to morally suppress you, down to suicide.

It's impossible to stop

The Internet in the life of young adolescents has become an integral part of their upbringing and becoming as independent personalities. Harassment of adolescents in school, most often, does not go beyond its limits, which is absolutely the opposite situation in the network: the possibilities of a person in the world wide web are limited by his desire to get acquainted and develop further. Such a statement means that on the Internet we get acquainted and constantly contact with a large number of people, forming from them our circle of communication, gaining authority and respect there, but when in this circle purposefully break with the goal of defaming us and destroying what we have been so long and persistently created, the victim can have an incredible surge of negative, which later becomes depressed.

At first, it may seem that cyberbullying does not represent anything serious, but in real life the aggressor stops persecution of his victim, after receiving appropriate pleasure from her pain and emotions. In the same network - on the contrary, all that the attacker sees, only a lamp monitor with black spots in the form of messages of his victim. Agree, very few people are ready to show their depressed state from the messages of some [censorship], therefore, the persecutor does not receive feedback from the victim and it seems to him in a simple way that the situation has not been brought to its logical conclusion. The funniest and most sad thing in this case is that depression is accompanied by both sides of the conflict: the first is due to harassment, the second is due to lack of euphoria from the victory.

Mass attack

In the network there are whole groups dedicated to cyberbullying and cyberstalking. Yes, there really are people who enjoy the fact that their herd acts together and causes moral harm to other people. A special high, these moral freaks receive from the harassment and intimidation of adolescents, driving them into a corner, like little kittens. Now, I would like to tell you a brief case about how one of the communities of so-called "cyber-stalkers" works. The group in which this herd dwells is most often closed, accessed by the approval of the administration, approves of all who have not been a victim. The game begins when the administrator publishes a link to the user as a new post on the group page, this post contains as much detailed information about the person as possible in order to create the visibility "We are many .We know about you everything." You got. " The record of a new victim can be published under the order, or maybe simply with nothing better to do.

Further, there are harassment, threats and so on. The main thing - as much as possible messages / comments with personal information of the victim. The victim does not understand what is happening and after a couple of days the person with the following warning message communicates with her:

After such actions, the target, in a state of strong emotional excitement, submits and delivers the final dose of buzz. Some of the goals approve of such actions and by reference from this message join the herd. Yes, even though you were the target of the attack, you can join. An excellent way of PR. In addition, right in the group there is information that the victim has the opportunity to pay a fixed amount for deleting an entry about her.

Be careful, do not let outsiders know too much about you, form your own private circle, in which information about you, your entries and comments to them will be available only to your friends, adding to the list of which you will be strictly controlled. Under no circumstances should you publish compromising information about yourself. Remember that in the digital world, as in real life, the principle of universal responsibility extends: all people are responsible for what they see, what they do and what they publish on the Internet.
